How does it contribute to SMART II? | It illustrates how using several digital tools enhances accessibility and shows that accessibility is not just about installing ramps for wheelchair users. |

Short description | The city of Lublin has started to improve its digital products to fit the needs of persons with various kinds of disabilities. All the tourist websites it offers are prepared for deaf, blind and amblyopic people as well as for persons with physical disabilities. The tourist websites and the mobile app Tourist Lublin can be reached with keyboard shortcuts, contrast bottom, responsiveness (according to various sizes of devices’ screens), changing the font size, accessibility for text reader etc. All functionalities are described in the special accessibility declarations. |
Long description | The city of Lublin’s tourist websites are all equipped with tools to make them more accessible. Indeed, one can change the font size and contrast, and there is even a sign language translator. The Tourist Lublin application gives users unlimited access to practical information on how to spend their time in Lublin and discover its tourist attractions. Each of the city’s key attractions featured on the app has an audio description that can be played just by touching the button. The volume of the voice can be changed, as can the volume of the interface sound. Font size and contrast changes are also available on the app. In their declaration of accessibility, Lublin City Council undertakes to ensure the accessibility of its website and its applications. Agents can be contacted by email or via a telephone number if anyone encounters any problems with the website. Requests for access to unavailable information and requests to ensure accessibility may be submitted in the same way. Any person has the right to request the digital accessibility of a website, a mobile application or one of their components. One can also request that information be made available via an alternative access method, for example by reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film without an audio description, etc. |
