How can the GP be replicated? | Other countries can introduce this type of portal, but companies can also participate. It will encourage businesses such as hotels to change and adapt their accommodation so that they too can participate. |
How does it contribute to SMART II? | It encompasses various needs and offers solutions for them on a single platform provided by the government and in which many different organisations can participate. |
How can it be transferred? | This good practice addresses a variety of needs, which is crucial for any country that welcomes tourism in its regions. |
Short description | A portal with information on accessible tourism for people with wheelchairs, reduced mobility, visual and hearing impairments and mental disabilities. |
Long description | The portal offers various filters to meet the different needs of visitors that visit Spain and provide a comfortable experience for everyone. One can choose from options such as destinations, accommodation, activities, transport, professionals and agencies. Once an area of interest has been selected, the search can be further refined using the following filters: wheelchair users, reduced mobility, visually impaired, hearing impaired and mentally impaired. Once the filers have been customised to the user’s specific needs, the portal will suggest suitable locations and provide links for further access. With this function, travel plans can be optimised to suit the user’s needs. |
