DomSpain Promotes International Training for Tourism Professionals
From September 8 to 10, DomSpain organized a series of international training sessions for tourism professionals and experts under the title “Digital Competencies for Inclusion and Online Safety – Digital Education in the Cultural Field.” The event was co-funded by the European Union and brought together participants both in person and online.
As part of the training programme, DomSpain presented the SMART II project, which focuses on shaping the future of tourism by making destinations smarter, more inclusive, and sustainable. The project supports tourism professionals and small businesses in developing accessible, socially responsible, and environmentally friendly experiences through the use of digital tools and innovative practices. SMART II aims to build a tourism sector that leaves no one behind while driving both digital and green transformation.
The session also featured contributions from EURAKOM, SMART II’s partner from France, who joined the event online. They shared their experiences and good practices on inclusive tourism and digital innovation, highlighting practical examples from their work. Their input helped enrich the discussions and inspired participants to explore new approaches to making tourism more accessible and connected across Europe.
The training created a valuable space for international exchange, where professionals could learn, share knowledge, and strengthen collaboration toward a more inclusive and sustainable tourism future.
