The SMART II project officially began with its kick-off meeting held in Reus, Spain, on May 10\u201311, 2024. The event, hosted by DomSpain, gathered project partners from across Europe to set the foundation for a new phase of collaboration in promoting inclusive and smart tourism practices.<\/p>

The two-day meeting took place at Espai Boule, a creative and cultural space in the heart of Reus. Partners arrived on Friday, May 10, and were welcomed with an informal dinner, setting the stage for productive discussions and networking.<\/p>

Saturday\u2019s sessions began with a warm welcome and presentation of the meeting agenda by the DomSpain team. Throughout the day, partners reviewed the project\u2019s objectives, structure, and key activities. Topics included project management and coordination, timelines, task distribution, and risk management strategies.<\/p>

A major focus was given to the development of the SMART Inclusive Toolkit, led by DomSpain, which will provide a framework and methodology for inclusive tourism. Partners discussed data collection, translation, and updates to the project\u2019s website. EURAKOM presented plans for the Guide to Inclusive and Smart Tourism, outlining guidelines and a clear timeline for delivery.<\/p>

DomSpain also introduced the SMART Inclusive Webinars, which will serve as an online training and exchange platform. Green Village presented its approach for the workshops, emphasizing methodology, participant coaching, and integration into the online platform.<\/p>

The afternoon concluded with discussions on dissemination and communication strategies, led by EURAKOM, ensuring that the project\u2019s impact will reach a wide audience. Partners also reviewed plans for the next transnational project meeting, to be hosted by Green Village.<\/p>

This initiative is particularly relevant for people because it focuses on making tourism accessible to everyone \u2014 regardless of age, ability, or background. By combining digital innovation with inclusive design, SMART II aims to improve the way destinations welcome all visitors. The project\u2019s results will benefit local communities, tourism professionals, and travelers by fostering equality, cultural understanding, and sustainable growth across Europe.<\/p>
